India easily defeated South Africa by 113 runs in the first Test to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
In the Test match played at Centurion, the South African team was all out for 191 runs in pursuit of the target of 305 runs.
India scored 327 in the first innings where KL Rahul played a brilliant innings of 123 runs while Manik Agarwal was the second notable batsman with 60 runs.
In the first innings, the South African team was bowled out for only 197 runs, with Temba Bauma being the top scorer with 52 runs.
The Indian team, which started the second innings in the lead, returned to the pavilion for 174 runs this time.
However, the target of 305 runs proved to be like a mountain for the South African team in which the home team was the guest of 191 runs.
India won the match by 113 runs and also took a 1-0 lead in the series.
India’s KL Rahul was declared the best player of the match for scoring a memorable century.
