Afghan delegation arrives in Pakistan to stop double taxation

A four-member delegation of the Afghan Ministry of Finance is on a three-day visit to Pakistan till December 31. The purpose of the Afghan delegation’s visit to Pakistan is to prevent double taxation.

Spokesman of the Afghan Ministry of Finance Ahmad Wali Haqmal said that the Afghan delegation arrived in Pakistan on a three-day visit yesterday.

He said that many traders active in both the countries pay taxes to both the countries.

Ahmad Wali Haqmal added that the delegation would try to help Afghan businessmen operating in both countries pay only one tax.

A spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Finance also said that the Afghan delegation would visit the UAE, Turkey, India and Iran to resolve the issue of double taxation.

In this regard, the Afghanistan-Pakistan Joint Chamber of Commerce says that if the issue of double taxation is resolved, the volume of trade between the two countries will increase.
