According to the foreign news agency, the spokesman of the Afghan government Bilal Karimi has said that there is no need for the Afghan Election Commission yet, if necessary, the Election Commission will be reconstituted.

Aurangzeb, the head of the Election Commission, said that the Taliban had acted hastily in abolishing the Election Commission, adding that the move would have serious consequences.

The Independent Election Commission and the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission were responsible for conducting elections in Afghanistan.
