Ashish Saxena, COO of Cinemas Book My Show, says that after a long wait of 4 years, Shah Rukh Khan’s action-packed return to the screen has set a new record for advance booking at the box office.
He said that the action thriller is eagerly awaited, with more than 1 million tickets sold on BookMyShow so far.
He further informed that after the advance booking of the film ‘Pathan’ which was released on more than 3500 screens, the screening of the film is now taking place in stages, even as the demand increases, theaters in India are able to screen the film. It has forced the opening of early morning shows.
On January 23, the movie ‘Pathan’ sold 4.19 lakh tickets in 3 theaters, Inox, PVR and Cinepolis.
Earlier, the movie ‘War’ had sold 4.10 lakh tickets in these three national cinemas.
According to a report, the ticket sales of Pathan are now close to 5.25 to 5.50 lakhs and are expected to beat the advance booking record of the film ‘KGF Chapter 2’.
