Senior journalist and analyst Hamid Mir says that the case against Fawad Chaudhry is not so strong, he may be granted bail on his first appearance or the court may remand him for two days.

While speaking in Geo News program Geo Pakistan, Hamid Mir said that Secretary Election Commission registered a case against Fawad Chaudhry in Kohsar police station in which he said that Fawad Chaudhry made objectionable statements about the Election Commission.

He said that the arrest of Fawad Chaudhry may be the first stage of arrests, the Election Commission has declared Imran Khan as a fugitive in a case in which Fawad Chaudhry is also involved.

Hamid further says that there are also possibilities of arresting Imran Khan and Asad Umar in the contempt Election Commission case.

He also says that there was not a large number of PTI workers outside Zaman Park yesterday, perhaps that is the reason why people sitting in Islamabad thought of Fawad Chaudhry’s arrest.

It should be noted that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry has been arrested by Islamabad police from Lahore.

Police sources say that Fawad Chaudhry has been arrested from his residence near Thokar Niaz Baig, he will be taken to Islamabad.

A case has been registered against Fawad Chaudhry in Kohsar police station last night, the case has been registered against him on the request of Secretary Election Commission Umar Hameed.

It is written in the text of the case that Fawad Chaudhry had said that the status of the Election Commission has become that of a minister, who will pursue those who are joining the caretaker government until they are punished.
