Afghan-American actress and director Farishta Kazmi praised Norwegian dance group ‘The Quick Style’ as Afghan.
Fooled by an edited video on micro-blogging site Twitter, Afghan actress Farishta Kazmi praised The Quick Style Group as an Afghani dancing group and Khumarian Band’s song ‘Ya Qurban’ in Coke Studio Season 11 as an Afghan tune.
However, when told by Twitter users that the said group is not an Afghan group, but a Norwegian dancing group of two Pakistani brothers, ‘The Quick Style’ group.
And the said song is not an Afghan song but a famous old Pashto song which falls under the category of Tappe and was sung by famous Pashto singer ‘Gulnar Begum’ in 1970.
While the Norwegian dancing group ‘The Quick Style’ performed on it during the festival held in Qatar two months ago.
When the truth was revealed to Ferishta Kazmi, instead of correcting herself, she closed the comment section.
