Lahore: The victim of torture reached the High Court to stop the video

A student who was subjected to torture in a private school in Lahore filed an application in the Lahore High Court to stop the video.

In the case of violence against a female student in a private school, the affected student approached the Lahore High Court to stop the video.

Chairman Pemra and 6 news channels have been made party to the student’s request, Lahore High Court has fixed January 26 as the date for hearing the student’s request.

It was contended in the petition that on January 19, TV channels played the video of the fight, in which the face of the petitioner was clearly visible.

Petitioner Hamna Qaiser took the stand that the case of the incident has been registered, the video is a distorted part of the entire incident, the fighting incident took place in academic opposition.

It was argued in the petition that the Pakistani media played the video with harsh words, without blurring the faces of the young girls.

The petitioner contended that not concealing the identity of minor girls could be dangerous to their personal lives.

It was argued that the identity of minors is concealed worldwide, which is also a law, and the footage of the fight in the media caused ridicule to the petitioner.

In the petition, a stand was taken that PEMRA was requested to stop the channels from playing the video and apologize but no action was taken.

The petition demanded that all TV channels be directed to delete the video of the fight and apologize for airing the video.

In the petition, it was requested that the identity of the private parties in the case under hearing in the court should also be stopped.
