Federal Ombudsman’s 40th Foundation Day, Special Ticket Issued

A special ticket has been issued on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Federal Ombudsman.

Federal Ombudsman Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi said during a press conference in Islamabad that the Federal Ombudsman has solved 19 lakh complaints during 40 years.

He said that the Federal Ombudsman received more than 164,000 complaints against federal institutions in 2022, while this year the victims were given an amount of 3.3 billion rupees.

The federal ombudsman says that the complaints received on an annual basis last year have increased by 50% while online complaints have increased by 100%.

He said that complaints commissioner was appointed for overseas Pakistanis, last year 1 lakh 37 thousand 423 complaints of overseas Pakistanis were dealt with.

Federal Ombudsman Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi said that online complaints have also started to be heard on mobile phones.

He further said that complaints against 181 institutions of the government are dealt with by the Federal Ombudsman.

A system of inspections has been launched by the Federal Ombudsman, following which institutions like hospitals, utility stores and NADRA are visited.
