Capt. Adeel Rana, a Pakistani-American police officer, has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector in the New York Police Department.

For the first time in the history of the New York Police, a Pakistani-American citizen has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector.

According to a foreign correspondent, Adeel Rana was promoted from the post of Captain. He was given a promotion letter for the post of Deputy Inspector on Tuesday.

Adeel Rana was a commanding officer in the New York Police Department, the first Pakistani-American to reach that position.
