Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane, who played Hagrid in the Harry Potter films, has died at the age of 72.
He died today in hospital in Scotland, his agent Belinda Wright said.
In the statement, Belinda said that he was a very intelligent and cheerful person, a great actor, I worked with him for 40 years as an agent.
Robbie Coltrane first rose to fame in the 1990s, when he played the role of an investigating officer in the series ‘Cracker’.
He was awarded the BAFTA Award for Best Actor for three consecutive years for this performance.
Later, he played the role of a mischievous teacher ‘Haggard’ in the Harry Potter films, which catapulted him to new heights of fame.
