Newtown police have arrested a security guard for his involvement in murder, drug dealing and street crimes during an operation.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police East Zubair Nazir Sheikh, the arrest of Muhammad Din son of Wali Gul, a guard of a private security company, was carried out with illegal weapons.
A facilitator of accused Muhammad Deen and an accomplice Sahil alias Saud are already in jail. The accused was absconding from Mominabad police station in a drug case, while Mangho was absconding in the case of illegal arms and murder.
The arrested security guard is involved in several serious crimes including murder, possession of illegal arms, drug dealing and robberies.
According to SSP East Zubair Nazir Sheikh, the accused killed Muhammad Hussain during a robbery along with his accomplices at a petrol pump in Mangho Peer area on June 13, 2022. According to Muslim Khan, a case has been registered in Mangho Peer police station.
On receiving information about the presence of the accused Muhammad Deen, SHO New Town Muhammad Saud conducted a raid and arrested him. Charge No. 73/2023 has been registered against the accused under Section 23 One A.
The arrested security guard has been handed over to the investigation authorities along with the property cases. The police have also started questioning the officials of the private security company over the matter.
The question has been raised as to how the company kept the accused on duty by giving him arms without police verification.
