Jamaat-e-Islami withdrew the contempt of court petition against Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and others.

The petitioner, Usman Farooq, advocate, has said in the Sindh High Court that the municipal elections have been held, so I want to withdraw the petition.

Election Commission, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Provincial Minister Nasir Hussain and Sharjeel Inam Memon were made parties in the petition.

The petitioner was of the view that the Sindh government had written a letter to the Election Commission to stop the elections.

In the petition, it was also requested to take contempt of court proceedings against the Chief Minister of Sindh and others for writing the letter.
