Imran Khan’s application scheduled for hearing in Islamabad High Court

Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan’s request to appear through video link in the prohibited funding case was set for hearing.

In the prohibited funding case, a case has been registered under the Foreign Exchange Act, the application has been fixed for hearing in a division bench of the Islamabad High Court.

A bench comprising Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri will hear the petition against the banking court’s decision.

The registrar office of Islamabad High Court has objected to the application, it was said that Imran Khan has not done biometric verification yet.

In a case registered under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, the Banking Court of Islamabad had rejected the request of Imran Khan to appear through video link in the prohibited funding case.

The court also ordered Imran Khan to appear in person on February 15.

Which has been challenged in the Islamabad High Court and a stand has been taken to nullify the trial court’s order of January 31 and allow Imran Khan to appear on video link until he recovers.

The Registrar’s Office has raised several objections including non-biometric verification on behalf of Imran Khan as a petitioner.

At the request of lawyers, the application has been set for hearing with objections from the Registrar’s Office.
