Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed to work on solar and wind power projects on priority basis.
A high-level meeting on renewable energy sources was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, in which a briefing was given on the current potential of wind and solar energy in the country.
In the meeting, the stalled projects and their progress were also informed in detail.
According to the announcement, Prime Minister directed to work on solar and wind power projects on priority basis.
The Prime Minister said that the promotion of power generation through solar and wind energy sources is the priority of the government. Renewable sources will generate low cost and environment friendly electricity.
He said that the previous government did not complete the energy projects started during the Muslim League (N) era, 22 crore people are suffering the consequences of the previous government’s criminal negligence and incompetence.
He said that work on the 10,000 MW solar power project of the government is going on rapidly, thanks to solar power, the cost of expensive imported fuel will save valuable foreign exchange.
The Prime Minister directed to give a plan to take full advantage of the potential of solar and wind energy. All obstacles in the way of solar and wind energy projects should be removed.
