Former President Asif Ali Zardari has said this in a message issued on National Women’s Day.
He says that today women in Pakistan raised their voices for the restoration of democracy, the role of mother of democracy Begum Nusrat Bhutto and Ms. Benazir Bhutto Shaheed is a torch for women.
Asif Zardari has said that female PP leaders and activists endured imprisonment in the Shahi Fort for the restoration of democracy, Pakistan People’s Party ensured the participation of women in all sectors.
He further said that Benazir Income Support Program made women share in the fruits of the state, it is necessary for a dignified and civilized society that women should have equal rights.
Former President Asif Zardari has also said that the thinking of women as inferior and weak will have to be defeated, People’s Party will continue the struggle to give women a dignified position.
