The Election Commission has written a letter to the National Accountability Bureau on the issue of recovery from Imran Khan and others for using helicopters of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the text of the letter written by the Election Commission, Imran Khan and other unauthorized persons should be declared defaulters from the relevant forum, the list of defaulters should be provided to the Election Commission.
The letter said that the list of defaulters will be sent to the returning officers for action as per law.
According to the NAB document, 1800 illegal trips were made in the two government helicopters of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, politicians used the helicopters 588 times, government officials used the helicopters 577 times, while other people also traveled by government helicopters 635 times.
According to the document, there are arrears of more than Rs 1983 lakh against unauthorized persons, more than Rs 968 lakh due to politicians, more than Rs 58 crore due to government officials and other persons. has arrears of more than Rs.5 crore.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly had declared the use of helicopters legal from November 1, 2008.
PML-N has challenged the amendment of the law on the use of helicopters in the Peshawar High Court.
