Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman warned that if the process of municipal elections is not completed soon, they will reach Islamabad through a train march.
Jamaat-e-Islami staged a symbolic sit-in against the Election Commission for not releasing the election schedule for 11 USCs in Karachi.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that MQM does not have the courage to hold a sit-in, they saved face by calling Sindh Governor Bahadurabad, the party that took the ministries in the regime change escaped under the pretext of naval exercises.
Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi further said that the Election Commission should follow the law and not serve the government and immediately issue the election schedule for the remaining 11 USCs of the municipal elections.
He said that the Chief Election Commission should tell on whose pressure the result of 6 seats has been withheld till now.
The by-election is a waste of time and money, if the process of local government elections is not completed, nationwide protests and strikes will take place.
