The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has decided to initiate legal proceedings against Senator Shaukat Tareen of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to sources, FIA has completed its investigation on the leaked audio of Shaukat Tareen’s conversation with the finance ministers of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Sources further said that FIA has decided to initiate legal action against Shaukat Tareen after investigation.
According to sources, the FIA has sought permission from the Home Ministry to take action against the PTI senator.
Sources also said that the FIA investigation revealed that Shaukat Tareen’s conversation was meant to harm the deal with the IMF, the PTI senator thus wanted to harm national interests and security.
The federal government had sent the matter to the FIA for investigation on Shaukat Tareen’s leaked audio.
