ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) today ordered to seal the Monal Restaurant in Margalla Hills National Park while hearing a case against encroachments.
Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the case against encroachments in Margalla Hills National Park in the Islamabad High Court during which the Home Secretary, Secretary Defense and Chairman CDA appeared before the court.
The Additional Attorney General told the court that Malik Amin Aslam, the Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Climate Change, had lost his temper.
Chief Justice Athar Minallah asked, “Do you know about environmental laws?” You didn’t even act on the decision to encroach on state land, what is happening is shocking.
He further said that the court summons you and gives you decisions, there is lawlessness in Islamabad, this court is giving decisions again and again and is telling you.
Chief Justice Athar Minallah in his order said that no activity could take place in the area of Margalla Hills National Park.
He said that this land belongs to the federal government and no one can cut grass from here.
The court asked the Additional Attorney General if he wanted to defend something he could not defend.
