The American congresswoman threw hot coffee on the attacker and forced him to run away

Congresswoman Angie Craig belonging to the Democratic Party of America was attacked in Washington, she saved her life by pouring hot coffee on the attacker.

Angie’s chief of staff, Nick Coe, said in a statement that the congressman defended herself from the attacker but was injured.

Angie called 911 but the attacker got away, police arrested a suspect Thursday night.

On Thursday around 7 am, the Congress member was in the lift of her flat when the accused attacked her but the accused fled after throwing hot coffee.

Police say they have arrested 26-year-old Kendrick Hamlin and charged him with assault.

Angie Craig, 50, was elected as a member of Congress in 2018 and is now serving her third term.

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar tweeted, “Let me tell you Angie’s bravery that even though she was attacked today she came straight to Capitol Hill and attended a meeting with the Governor along with me in the Senate.”
