Major General Talal Abdullah, Military Adviser to the Saudi Minister of Defense, called on Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ.
Issues of mutual interest, regional security and the situation in Afghanistan were discussed during the meeting. Bilateral defense relations between the two countries were also discussed during the meeting.
According to ISPR, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that Pakistan values its historical and fraternal relations with Saudi Arabia and recognizes Saudi Arabia’s unique position in the Islamic world.
The Chief of Army Staff stressed the need for immediate assistance to Afghanistan and the importance of Afghan peace and reconciliation efforts to avert a humanitarian catastrophe.
The Saudi Military Adviser acknowledged the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and pledged to enhance cooperation in various fields.
The guest of honor also appreciated Pakistan’s role in the Afghan situation, special efforts for border management and its role in regional stability.
