The Islamabad High Court Bar approached the Supreme Court to announce the date of the election within 90 days.
The petition requested that the Supreme Court order the Election Commission, Punjab and KP governors to announce the date of the elections.
The Supreme Court should order that elections should be held within the constitutional period of 90 days.
The application has been filed in the Supreme Court by Islamabad High Court Bar President Shoaib Shaheen.
The Governor of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Election Commission have been made parties in the petition, the Federation and the two provincial chief secretaries have also been made parties in the petition.
The Islamabad High Court Bar filed a constitutional petition through President Supreme Court Bar Abid Zuberi.
