President Dr. Arif Alvi wrote a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner for the elections in the provincial assemblies.

In the letter from Dr. Arif Alvi, it is said to announce the date of elections immediately, the constitution does not allow delay.

He said that the Election Commission should immediately announce the date of the provincial assembly elections as per the Election Act 2017.

The President also said that the Election Commission should release the election schedule for the Provincial Assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

They say that the declaration of elections will end the speculations related to provincial and general elections. Article 224 of the Constitution insists on holding elections within 90 days of dissolution of two assemblies. It is the primary and mandatory duty of CP.

In the letter, the President said that Article 218 (3) of the Constitution assigns the duty to the ECP to ensure the conduct of free and transparent elections. will be held responsible.

He said that the serious consequences of violating the Constitution and the Election Act 2017 should be avoided, the election schedule of the two dissolved assemblies should be announced immediately, the Objectives Resolution is a reflection of the unshakable determination of the forefathers of the nation, the democratic principles in the Constitution. , there is no ambiguity about adherence and adherence to values, the old democracies of the world have never delayed elections even during wars.
