By-elections are being held in Karachi on 9 constituencies of the National Assembly for which 187 candidates have submitted their nomination papers, including the People’s Party, Tehreek-e-Insaf, MQM and independent candidates.
By-elections will be held on March 16 on 9 constituencies of the National Assembly.
On the last day of submission of nomination papers, submission of papers by political parties and independent candidates continued till 4 pm and a total of 187 candidates submitted papers.
MQM Pakistan’s Mustafa Kamal submitted his nomination papers from NA-256 and NA-247 constituencies.
Dr. Farooq Sattar submitted papers from NA 252 and NA 254.
Aftab Jahangir of Tehreek-e-Insaf filed nomination papers from NA-252 while Ali Zaidi and Rauf Siddiqui of MQM-Pakistan filed nomination papers from NA-244.
7 candidates including Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Saifur Rehman and People’s Party’s Shehla Raza and three candidates of MQM-Pakistan submitted papers from NA-242.
Mustafa Kamal claimed that this time MQM Pakistan will win the by-elections on 9 seats.
PTI’s Ali Zaidi said that whoever the people vote for should win.
After the final list of candidates in 9 constituencies, the process of document verification will start from February 10 and will continue till February 13.
