Unidentified suspects broke the locks of the substation of K Electric in Sadar area of Karachi and stole the cable, after which Hashu Center and nearby markets are without electricity.
According to SHO Inspector Sajjad Khan of Predi police station in Karachi South, the incident took place between 6 am and 7 am.
According to eyewitnesses and watchmen, unknown persons came in two loader vehicles with K Electric identity cards hanging around their necks.
The accused entered the sub-station on the pretext of carrying out repair work and switched off the power supply and took out the heavy and valuable cables of the supply in the area and loaded them into the vehicles.
According to shopkeepers, there has been a blackout in Hashu Center and all the surrounding markets.
According to local residents, a similar incident took place in the sub-station of a big market on MA Jinnah Road some time ago.
According to the police, despite efforts, K Electric staff do not register a case, on the basis of which they suspect that some black sheep of K Electric are allegedly involved with the accused.
