Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto has said that negotiations are going on between our Finance Minister and the IMF.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while addressing the donor conference in Karachi said that it is hoped that the dialogue with the IMF will be positive, the IMF has the responsibility to provide protection to the flood victims.
Bilawal Bhutto said that there is a demand from the IMF to ease the conditions with the nation affected by the flood disasters, I want to make the world understand that the whole world is helping us.
He said that Pakistan has never gone through this kind of difficulties, crops have been damaged due to heat wave and monsoon, only talking about Sindh, we are also facing education crisis.
Bilawal Bhutto said that more than forty-seven percent of schools have been affected by floods, many educational institutions have been completely and partially destroyed, where water has been accumulating for many months, health problems are also arising.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto has said that a natural calamity like flood was a doom before doomsday for us, such a calamity has never happened before in history.
He said that one out of every seven Pakistanis was affected by the floods in Sindh, appreciating the efforts of the UN Secretary General in this difficult time.
The foreign minister said that it is the success of the government that we got more than what we asked for from the international organizations, more than three crore people were affected by the flood, crops were destroyed on five lakh acres.
Bilawal Bhutto said that agriculture is our backbone and flood broke our back.
He said that 1.5 billion dollars is needed for the construction of houses in Sindh, I ask the Sindh Chief Minister to give the ownership rights of the houses to the victims immediately.
Bilawal Bhutto said that we have started the work of building houses for the victims, we have to make more efforts to improve the health, agriculture and education sectors. The promise to the victims is just beginning.
He said that this program of ours is similar to the manifesto of PPP, Bread, Cloth, House, and we got support from international organizations, especially the World Bank.
