Sindh High Court: Hearing of the application related to theft of sensitive data of Pakistanis


The petitioner contends that the matter has been pending since 2018 as sensitive data is being sold.

The Sindh High Court has called for arguments on the admissibility of the petition related to the theft of sensitive data of 1.5 million Pakistanis.

In the Sindh High Court, an application regarding the theft of sensitive data of 1.5 million Pakistanis was heard.

The court asked the petitioner that this is a matter of public interest. How to file a case individually?

The court adjourned the hearing for six weeks.

The petitioner contends that the matter is pending since 2018. Sensitive data is being sold. This data is uploaded on dark website. Sensitive data is being sold for Rs. 35 crores.

The petitioner further says that mobile users’ identity card numbers, full address phone numbers and other data are included, concerned authorities should be prevented from selling sensitive data, there is no national cyber policy in Pakistan, data theft in Pakistan. Four more incidents have occurred.
