The spokesman of the Punjab Police has further said that the police are performing their duties beyond political and group interests.
The spokesperson of the Punjab Police also said that the government expects to take notice of the desecration of the police uniform by the party leader in the government.
On the other hand, Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar decided to drop the charge.
He wrote a letter to the federal government about not continuing his services as IG Punjab.
IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar says that the matter of registration of FIR of attack on Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan was going in another direction.
Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar has said in a letter written to the Secretary Establishment Division that due to some personal reasons he cannot continue his services as IG Punjab.
He says that I am requesting that my services be immediately withdrawn from the Punjab government, I cannot continue working any more.
Sources close to IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar say that he has decided to drop the charge on the FIR of attack on Imran Khan.
Sources further say that there was tension between the Punjab government and Faisal Shahkar over other issues including appointments and transfers at the top level in the police.
Sources have also told that IG Punjab was also unhappy about the issue of non-relinquishment of CCPO Lahore.
