International streaming service Netflix has officially launched an advertisement support service.
According to foreign media reports, Netflix has started subscription with ads from yesterday, thanks to which users will now be able to get the streaming service at a lower price.
Users can now get cheaper packages of the streaming service for just $6.99, but these cheaper packages may not include some movies and TV series due to licensing restrictions.
It should be noted that this ad-based package is initially available only in 12 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States.
The main objective of introducing these low cost packages is to increase the number of users.
Note that the number of Netflix users has been decreasing for the last two consecutive quarters.
The streaming service lost nearly two million subscribers in the first quarter of this year and nearly a million in the second quarter.
Now, the sale of these cheap packages and advertisements is proving to be a new revenue stream for Netflix.
It should be noted that according to company officials, not all premium level content will be available on this cheap plan.
However, he says there will be shows that account for 85 to 90 percent of Netflix viewing, including popular series like The Crown.
