Senate meeting: Prime Minister House’s written response on Chinese investment


In the question interval of the Senate session, the Prime Minister’s Office gave a written answer to the question regarding Chinese investment.

In the written reply, it was stated that in the last 2 years, the Chinese investment has decreased by 29%, due to the corona virus, the Chinese investment has decreased.

In the written reply, it was further stated that since the Special Economic Zone was launched in 2 years, investment companies have come to the zone.

Speaking on this issue, Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik said in the Upper House that the establishment of industry at the beginning of CPEC Phase 2 will improve Chinese investment in Pakistan.

He further said that 10 economic zones will be created in Punjab and 1 in Islamabad, the government is trying to start CPEC phase 2 soon.

The federal minister also said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s visit to China is also expected to make progress in this regard.
