Imprisonment case: Arif Gul presented in Supreme Court

Arif Gul, an accused belonging to the tribal area, was produced before the Supreme Court in the Beja case.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed heard the case of accused Arif Gul Habs Beja from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tribal region in the Supreme Court.

During the hearing, Arif Gul said that he was working at a hotel, someone complained and he was arrested.

The Additional Attorney General said that the documents of charges against Arif Gul are on record on which the court remarked that Arif Gul is accused of attacking a security post, the matter of detention centers is pending in a larger bench.

The attorney general asked the court to settle the matter or merge it with a larger bench.

The attorney general added that the court should order the same procedure for meeting the family of Arif Gul as for the rest of the people.

The Supreme Court allowed Arif Gul to provide full security in the detention center and to have the same procedure for meeting Arif Gul’s family as for other people.

The court merged the Arif Gul Habs Beja case with the detention centers case after which KP police took Arif Gul back to the detention center Kohat.

It should be noted that the bench hearing the case of Arif Gul Habs Beja in the Supreme Court of Pakistan was changed.

Justice Jamal Mandokhel and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar were not part of the bench.

A new bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed has been constituted.

During the hearing of the case of accused Arif Gul Habs Beja from the tribal area in the Supreme Court yesterday, the Chief Justice of Pakistan had remarked that presenting Arif Gul would blow up the Supreme Court building, not to present Arif Gul. If the Supreme Court is locked, if Arif Gul is not produced then the Prime Minister will be summoned.
