Pakistan and China agree to further expand strategic partnership, joint declaration issued



A joint statement was issued regarding Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s visit to China.

The statement said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan paid an official visit to China on November 1 and 2. The Chinese President met the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

According to the joint statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also held talks with the Chinese counterpart. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also met the Chairman National People’s Congress Standing Committee. This was Shahbaz Sharif’s first visit to China after assuming the post of Prime Minister.

According to the joint declaration, Pakistan and China have agreed to further expand the strategic partnership.

According to the statement, Shahbaz Sharif reiterated his government’s commitment to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road project.

The statement said that China reiterated its support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and security, while also reaffirming its support for Pakistan’s socio-economic development and prosperity.

China condoled and expressed sympathy for the loss of life and property in the recent floods in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated China’s timely assistance to the flood victims.

According to the joint declaration, the provision of relief goods on natural disasters, the services of Chinese experts for the victims are commendable, Pakistan thanked China for its help in reconstruction and rehabilitation after natural disasters.

The statement said that the Chinese aid to the victims was a reflection of the strategic cooperation and partnership between the two countries.
