Modern technology must be adopted for the election process, Chief Election Commissioner



Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja has said that we have to adopt modern technology in the election process.

A meeting chaired by the Chief Election Commissioner was held in Islamabad, in which a briefing was given on the progress made by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on EVMs and overseas voting.

According to the statement, during the meeting, the ECP expressed satisfaction over the actions of the Project Management Unit (PMU) and directed to ensure its transparency.

ECP directed that the federal government will be written to provide the project funds, PMU chief said that the financial bid for election management system is being opened on November 2.

During the meeting, the Chief Election Commissioner said that EVM and overseas Pakistani voting matters are very important, it is very important to take care of the sanctity of vote, confidentiality and integrity of election.

The ECP chief further said that we have to adopt modern technology in the electoral process, it is also our responsibility to keep the trust of all stakeholders in mind.
