Former Test all-rounder Yasir Arafat will be the new bowling coach of the national team and will also serve as Mickey Arthur’s assistant.
Yasser Arafat will also serve as the head of the national team’s coaching staff in the absence of Mickey Arthur.
Pakistan Cricket Board Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi has decided to hire Mickey Arthur to coach the national cricket team in the future, even though Mickey Arthur is associated with English county Derbyshire.
Najam Sethi believes that he has the ability to see and run the affairs of the Pakistan cricket team along with his chosen team.
In this regard, Najam Sethi has delegated powers to Mickey Arthur, who is currently in England, to take forward the coaching matters of the Pakistan team by appointing the coaching staff of his choice.
According to the latest information, in this context, 54-year-old Mickey Arthur has chosen 40-year-old Yasser Arafat as the new bowling coach of the national team.
Yasir Arafat has recently obtained a Level Four Specialist Coach degree from the England and Wales Cricket Board.
Yasir Arafat had expressed his interest in coaching in the previous Cricket Board, but he was not given any effective response by Director High Performance Center Nadeem Khan.
Born on March 12, 1982 in Rawalpindi, Yasir Arafat has played 3 Tests, 11 ODIs and 13 T20 Internationals for Pakistan from February 2000 to September 2012.
