Vijaya Swati murder case: Convicted accused’s bail application returned after court remarks


After the court’s remarks on the bail application of the convicted accused in the Wajiha Swati murder case, Hurriyullah, the application was withdrawn.

Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz and Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan heard the application.

The court said that there is no law for such early bail in serious cases.

After the court’s remarks, the petitioner withdrew the bail application.

The court said that the weak prosecution would show that the prosecution was in collusion with the accused.

Hurriyatullah, the father-in-law of the deceased Wajiha Swati, has been sentenced to 7 years imprisonment by the subordinate court.

The court reprimanded the lawyer of the victim and said that why did you not file an appeal against the increase in the punishments of the accused, the acquittal of the 3 accused?

During the hearing, a three-member team of the American intelligence agency FBI was also present in the court.


The Additional District and Sessions Judge Rawalpindi had pronounced the verdict in the Vijaya Swati murder case on 12 November 2022.

After being found guilty, the court sentenced Rizwan, the ex-husband of the deceased, to death, 17 years in prison, and 7 lakh damages.

The court sentenced the victim’s father-in-law, Haritullah, and the driver, Sultan Ahmed, to 7 years in prison.

During the trial, the court acquitted the three accused by giving them the benefit of doubt.

Morgah police station had registered a case of kidnapping and murder of Wajiha Swati on November 2.
