Arrested Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed will be produced by police in Islamabad court today for physical remand.
In connection with Sheikh Rashid’s appearance, his nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafiq has reached the court.
Sheikh Rasheed will be produced in District and Sessions Court of Judicial Magistrate Umar Shabbir, Islamabad.
Islamabad Police will request the court to take Sheikh Rasheed’s physical remand.
A case has been registered against Sheikh Rasheed in Abpara police station under 3 sections.
Under the provisions imposed on Sheikh Rasheed, he can be sentenced to 5 to 7 years in prison.
Three provisions have been imposed in the case against former Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed.
In the case against Sheikh Rasheed, 1 bailable and 2 non-bailable provisions have been imposed.
Bailable Section 120 is hate speech punishable with 6 months imprisonment or fine.
Section 153A is non-bailable for sedition, punishable by 5 years imprisonment.
The second non-bailable section 505 is for incitement to public which is punishable by 7 years imprisonment.
It should be noted that Awami Muslim League chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed was arrested last night, weapons and liquor were recovered from his possession, after which he was transferred to Islamabad police station Abpara.
Police officials claim that Sheikh Rasheed was intoxicated, expensive brand of liquor was recovered from his possession, besides M4 rifle, Kalashnikov and automatic gun were also recovered from Sheikh Rasheed’s possession.
After the arrest, medical tests were conducted at Sheikh Rasheed Polyclinic Hospital.
It should be noted that a case has been registered against Sheikh Rashid in Abpara police station. According to the FIR, Sheikh Rashid has alleged that Asif Zardari has hired terrorists to kill Imran Khan, the aim of which is to kill Asif Zardari. Shaykh Rasheed should be arrested and investigated.
Sheikh Rasheed has challenged the summons notice in the police station in the Islamabad High Court.
On the other hand, Rashid Shafiq, the nephew of Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, while talking to Geo News, said that Sheikh Rashid was arrested from his residence, the employees of the house were locked in a room at the time of the raid.
