Awami Muslim League chief and former federal interior minister Sheikh Rasheed filed a petition against the appointment of caretaker chief minister in Punjab.

In the petition filed in the Lahore High Court, it has been said that the caretaker chief minister has been appointed on the basis of malice.

The petitioner is of the opinion that Mohsin Naqvi was appointed despite objections.

It is argued in the petition that the appointment was made to benefit a political party.

In the petition, the court has been requested to declare the appointment of caretaker chief minister null and void.

Advocate Azhar Siddique has filed a petition on behalf of Sheikh Rasheed, in which the government, former chief minister Pervez Elahi and Hamza Shahbaz have been made parties.
